About Us
The South Carolina Institute on the Prevention of Sexual Violence on College Campuses (SCIP) is dedicated to lowering the incidence of sexual and intimate partner violence and strengthening how higher education institutions support survivors. Through prevention grants, faculty research funding, professional development related to Title IX, Greek student leadership institutes, and campus safety conferences, SCIP equips colleges and universities with the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to create safer campuses. Its mission is carried out through advocacy and survivor-centered support, leadership, and education that emphasize prevention and awareness, and partnerships that foster stronger Title IX collaboration across institutions. Since 2024, SCIP has proudly awarded over $100,000 in Sexual Violence Prevention Grant funding to South Carolina colleges, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing campus safety statewide. SCIP was created by President Richard Cosentino and is chartered by Lander University.
